That's a pretty sweeping statement, and not always true.
Some herbal teas contain far more caffeine per ounce than coffee or tea.
I prefer my herbal teas with a bit of sugar added.
Hot cider has a lot of natural sugars, even if it is not the sugar added
kind. And most recipes for hot mulled cider call for the addition of sugar.
