Just don't try freezing them, Lainie.  Doesn't work.  Once, I painted
(literally used a new small paint brush) with slightly beaten egg white,
then trickled fine sugar over them.  They did pretty well, and looked
pretty decorating a pale yellow lemon cake.  (Send left-overs to
you-know-who).

The time I dipped them in sugar syrup was a disaster, IIRC.  Maybe the
syrup was still too warm.
