Arrgg. . . its been a long wee already and I've lost my ability to write.  I 
said:

I meant to say:

**I'll give the recipe that I worked off of, although I'm not sure which 
translation of Apicius it came from.**

I also forgot to mention you can use whatever type of lettuce you prefer.
