    No, it's too warm down here, and there are other factors which make
cultivation extremely difficult. A friend of mine dropped over $125k into an
unsuccessful attempt to grow morels commercially, and now he raises exotic
orchids in his 'shroom hut instead. In close to 2 years of continued
attempts, he harvested less than 10 lb total. And I think we ate most of
'em. Good, but the price per pound was a bit prohibitive . . .
    He had more luck with Shiitakes, but couldn't compete with the larger
growers, who had more experience and the economy of scale.
