Oh, please... I lived and traveled in Europe for four years, THIS PERIOD, and 
heard "rather rude comments" made by visitors from other lands.  Heck, when I 
lived in Arizona I heard them from "snowbirds" and when I lived in Georgia I 
heard them from people from all over the USA. 

My own Grandmother visiting Georgia for the first time became "rather 
incensed" with the Waffle Shop waitress when GM ordered her breakfast eggs 
"basted" and the girl did not know what she meant.  Plus describing how to 
prepare them didn't help much.
