Oh, you can get the Grains of Paradise, allright...you just may have to break
a few import laws to get them (but, you know us Americans...we're
import-restriction-rebels)
Truthfully, I have no clue as to why the Grains would be prohibited in
Australia (aside from their use in Gin, which is reason in itself to prohibit
them) I will, however, look into this subject further. Living in a state
which has very strict agricultural import laws (California), I may be able to
contact our local cooperative extension to get some more info. I'll keep the
list aprised of my efforts.
Out of curiosity, though, what recipe are you using which calls for grains of
paradise? I am a professional chef in the mundane world, and have had very
limited call for them in any of my work. I am always looking to expabd my
horizons, though.
