To clear up a possible misunderstanding:
These are not baby seals, and not harp seals, and they are not hunted for
their fur, which is not used at all. They are young adult seals of a species
whose English name escapes me for a moment but which there are too damn many
of around here as they are a bloody nuisance, never mind their cuteness.
Amongst other things, they are an intermediate host for a parasite worm that
attacks cod and other fish.
