I really like Alton Brown and "Good Eats. He is sorta like a low octane culinary Mister Wizard (Alton Brown the Cooking Guy?). He takes a theme ingredient or dish and does a little exposition about the history and or light food chemistry of it. Then, he goves a how-to on the dish. He makes it very entertaining for beginners while providing enough new information to make it worth my entertainment hour. He even shops at Harry's Framers' Market here in Atlanta in many of his shows.

You'll even find a few interesting gadegets discussed. And why they work!
