Infused aquavit is quite common, using various herbs, fruits etc. One of the
only two times I've had alcohol poisoning (mild, but still _engraved_ in my
memory!) was as a result of an all-nighter with a Swedish friend, involving
several small bottles of different flavored aquavit her mother sent her
(ranging from delicious to <ick> aniseed), and a bottle of Polish plum
brandy... 
Yes, I did learn my lesson! :-)
