I agree that the way it was written was poorly stated, but just as poorly as
a certain missive we have read recently.  Also, that HRH requested was no
completely period feasts, but some "removes", or as properly stated courses
could be period.  She never once said any whole period feast was good.  Not
once have I heard that from HRH.  As a matter of fact, I have heard nothing
from HRH, could no one call her and discuss this with her then share her
views?  All I have heard from her retinue and her house members was what
they interpreted her meaning to be.  Lance and I had a nice discussion where
we both now agree that bad feasts and period feasts are not synonymous.  And
we also both agree that if we pay for someone to cook for us, we would like
to eat it.  If, indeed, that is what HRH meant, then that is what is what
needs to be stated and then maybe we can move forward in helping her, and
her Kingdom, come to terms with what can be served and still support the art
of period cooking.  But until anybody hears from HRH all we are doing is
arguing over speculation as to what she meant. And not only are we, on the
cooks list, guilty of interpreting her words as we saw them, so are her
supporters.

Sorry about this post, I do not mean to attack Duncan in anyway.  All I am
saying is that at this point we have offended people, been offended by
people, argued about a post, made fun of a post, and cussed and discussed it
thoroughly, without making any headway into the real issue, how this can be
fixed.  The reason.... because as much as we discuss it, we still do not
have the original party's true idea of what she meant about it.   Until
someone can discuss this with HRH we are at a standstill and all the arguing
between us in the world will not help settle the issue.

BTW I admit my guilt in interpreting this as much as anyone here.  And
stating my opinions, which is what I hope this list is for.  But we have
degraded to arguing and name calling and that is not the purpose here, I
hope.  Besides the fact that our missives to list have been cross posted to
another list without our knowledge or permission, which I personally
consider an intrusion.
