The BEST way to quickly accumulate a dozen plus period cookbooks is to 
purchase Cariadoc's Collection of Medieval and Renaissance Cookbooks, Vol. I 
and II. Both volumes together are around 20 US dollars or so and contain most 
of the cookbooks discussed on this list.
