SC - White or yellow cornmeal?

Yes, and yes.
White meal is harder and grainier.  Yellow meal is softer and flakier.
White meal also  has a different flavor, but it is hard to put into words.  
Best I can come up with is that the yellow tastes like "home" and the white 
doesn't.
