I cannot resist pointing out the irony of these two generalities: the
one above, that all SCA monarchs won by shrugging off the most shots, or
the one that started this corpulent argument and bickerfest in the first
place, that of all period food is inedible by modern standards.

(BTW, I mean not to belittle the hurt feelings of good historic cooks or
the valid views and opinions expressed lately, but you can put only so
much stuffing in a goose.)
