You mean early introduction of cow´s milk can cause an allergy? Then we
Icelanders should be having lots of food allergies - I drank nothing but
cow´s milk from age three weeks, for instance.

Come to think of it, maybe that´s the explanation. During the 17th and 18th
centuries at least, almost no Icelandic babies were breastfed. They were
given cow´s milk instead. At least half of them died during the first year
of their life. Maybe the babies with genes making them suspectible to food
allergies all died so these genes were largely bred out of the populace.
