But that is plain wrong. While Isabella Beeton did die young (she was 28),
it wasn´t until three years after the publication of her Book of Household
management. And her husband was forced to sell off the copyrights less than
two years later, so any subsequent changes were made by the new publisher
and had nothing to do with the Beetons at all. Later editions may have done
a lot to ruin British cooking but after 1906, they contained very little of
Mrs. Beeton´s original material.
