Yup!
Don't knock it if ya aint tried it!!
Actually it melts the cheddar, and makes a kind of cheezy sauce out of it.
If you can get past the look of one of these sandwiches, and don't mind the
way it gets all over your face while eating, (and the fact that the meat is grey
as a dirty sweat sock) you'll love it...
If you like the steamed grilled taste of the "White Castle" genre, try a steam
grilled patty 3/4 inch thich, 5-6 oz before cooking, about the same weight
AFTER cooking...
Next time you drive through I 91 in Connecticut, stop in at Ted's Lunch, and
try it.
Most of Daleco's business is selling these to local hardware stores for home
use, and to "snow bird" expatriates who move away and cannot get the
burgers locally.
They sell enough to have kept the company alive for twenty years, so there
must be something to it...
