No, I remember some sort of gold/orange squishy stuff in packets.  Mother
didn't like to get her hands into it, but it was perfect for me.  We
always used a pale green glass bowl.  I got to stand on the kitchen stool
so that my arms could reach the bottom of the bowl, and squish all I
wanted, with both hands, until the color was perfect.  All she had to do
was keep me from falling off the stool.  And wash my hands and arms. ;-)
