Speak for your own cats....I have a polydactyl cat with 27 toes, total,
resulting in 2 thumbs, roughly, per front foot.  I'm quite sure she can
do _anything_ she wants to with them, but, being feline, chooses to
allow me the honor of opening the cat food container....<g>
