Hullo, the list!

Just a quick reminder to those for whom it is applicable. Please, please
try to trim quoted passages from the earlier messages you reference to
the minimum. I just received perhaps the fourth digest _in a row_ that
consisted of about 15% actual list-related content (some of which was
about Spam and virii), 50% recopied postings attached to new postings,
and 35% of:

Often there are three or four of them in the same message.

I'd be the last person to suggest total restraint regarding subject
matter for the cooks' list, as my posting history clearly shows, and I
also know accidents do happen, but if people would be just a bit more
careful and considerate about this, I think it would make life easier
for many.
