Yes, musk was used in candies, but I don't recall it being used in rock
candy.  It certainly was in sugar paste and was called muscadines (IIRC).
There's at least one recipe in _Dining With William Shakespeare_.  Sorry
for a short answer.  I'm being overwhelmed by Pennsic data entry this
week!
