SC - Serving question

Things I have seen at but would never serve at events:

Meatloaf and mashed potatoes
Tacos
Bananas
Pickled hot peppers
Gazpacho
Vegetarian Soup with tomatoes, broccoli, and kale
German Potato Salad
Cold Cannon (boiled cabbage and potatoes)
Shortbread
Lasagna
Eggplant Parmiagana (with tomato sauce)

While I truly enjoy these mundanely, I am always taken aback when I see them 
on the table at an event.
