Corpora states 'Western culture.'  Early editions of the Known World Handbook 
(an 'official' publication of the SCA) stated Europe and the cultures they 
came in contact with. Newer revisionist versions conveniently left it out and 
certain  elements of the SCA pretend as if it never were. :-)
