Speaking as a former Paramedic, there is no good day for bloodletting.
Blood is a vital part of your body and you only have so much of it. That is
one of the reasons why you are only allowed to give blood once every eight
weeks, and that is only one pint. If you have ever given blood, you will
know that it does take a while to recover from the loss of fluids. Image if
you will how you would feel after giving the same amount of blood four to
six times over the course of two days. There are medical reasons where is
it necessary to bleed a patient but the practice was the first choice of
treatment for every illness and at every opportunity; the death rate was
staggering.
