I am also a non gardener - I once killed a rosemary bush, at that point I
gave up! I haven't asked her what she was thinking buying me a book about
gardening! It does have lots of pretty pictures, some details about herbs
in cooking, and a bit of history too - so, it looks like a nice book even
for those of us with brown thumbs. (Green thumbs make things grow, brown
thumbs do the opposite!)
