Etain,

>> Someone else is picking the site..and will hopefully be coming out
for the day to help set up (and figure out where things go!). Then he
will leave<<

It is NOT a good idea to leave this until the last minute, and try to
plan once on site. For one thing, there are no 'ghost camps', which
means at least one person staying in the camp--not every minute, just
living there every day. You need to find out how many people are
pre-registered for your camp, the size of their tents, flies, pavillions,
etc. Sit down with some graph paper and make lay-outs, long before
Pennsic. Leave yourself plenty of room for the cook/campfire pit, and
for tiki torches to be well away from the tents. Plan your walkways.
Make sure their is good room for any emergency. Don't forget the tent's
'footprint'. That is the amount of space needed for the poles and stakes
and ropes around the tent. Leave a clear walkway to the porta castles
for middle of the night trips in the dark.

You may have to be flexible and work out conflicts with your neighbors if
you don't get all the room you expect, and if they have a plan, and you
don't, guess who isn't going to get what you need? The Pennsic website
should have the info as to how much space is allotted to each camper, and
you can do the math to figure out how much space you 'should' be able to
expect. There's lots of last minute finagling--be as clear as you can
beforhand.

The Pennsic web site will also have the schedule of what is happening--so
far as they know at this point. Expect changes. And, yes, I'm afraid
most of your participation will be with the merchants who are open
early--but that's no small thing. And, you can come by Clan Kyle and
meet us. find Caer Frig down by the lake--lots of good fun to be had.

Regards,
Allison, allilyn at juno.com
