Lars described her rather distressing and uncomfortable camping event

All heaters are going to put out carbon dioxide and probably some
carbon monoxide. But yes, if there was a large amount of the later,
it probably was faulty. Even with heaters that aren't it is always
recommended to have a supply of fresh air coming into the tent. I'm
real happy the victims appear to be ok now.

Your attitude is wonderful. I doubt I could be so happy in a similar
situation.

There were reasons that historic figures did not plan campaigns for
winter conditions, especially those of sub-freezing temperatures. For
instance, the Norse even when they started over-wintering in England
did not spend their time raiding. They were simply holing up until
the spring came again.

No, I think you won. Folks were served a warming meal under very harsh
conditions from the materials that could be found at hand. I think the
cook, and the whole crew, did a very good job.
