Oh!!! The "lightbulb" in Stefan's head finally went on. This could
really be nice in some situations. There have been times when I've
detested looking for the trashcan to scrape the food remains into or
disliked the idea of putting the dirty dishes in a plastic bag to
haul home to clean. If I had a real bread trencher, I could simply
toss the used trencher and wipe off the eating utensils and cup and
take them home. Even if the trencher needed to be used on top of a
plate, the plate should be much cleaner than when used by itself.

Just wish I had some servents to make those trenchers. Of course if
I had a bigger freezer than the tiny one in the refrigerator, I could
spend an afternoon cooking a bunch of trenchers, dry them for several
days and then store them in the freezer for future events.

And for camping events such as Pennsic where you might be concerned
about keeping the dishes clean throughout the event, this could ease
this, although the number of trenchers needed might be high.
