True enough. He was a Saint of the Celtic Church which is believed to have
been founded in the British Isles about the end of the 2nd Century.

The Roman Church appears, in the form of St. Augustine of Canterbury, in
597.

The Celtic Church is slowly subsumed by the Roman Church until the Synod of
Whitby in 663, where most of the differences between the two Churches are
ironed out and the Roman Church takes control of the Isles.
