There's a great couple of books about exactly this point. "Lies my Teacher
Told Me: Everything your American History Textbook Got Wrong" and "Lies Across
America : What Our Historic Sites Get Wrong " are fascinating. They not only
expose all kinds of these myths, they actually provide a breakdown of what incorrect
facts are in which textbooks. The author, James W. Loewen, scoured all the
most popular textbooks for these tidbits. There are some that are wrong through
all of them, others that are simply left out of all, or wrong in a few and left
out of the others.

If only he's go earlier than American history!!

But, there is also: "Legends, Lies & Cherished Myths of World History" by Richard
Shenkman, which I have not yet read.

Obligatory food content:
Vivat, Jadwiga, for this weekends dayboard.
And, does anybody have a source for organic baby soybeans (edamame)? I've found
them a couple of times at Fresh Fields, but they don't have 'em often. I can
get them frozen, but they're so much better fresh. I must admit that I've become
addicted to the little buggers.

Thanks, ya'll!
