Cook some black beans, you can even put some salsa in them to liven them
up and make them chunkier, and it will still be black.  You might try
some blue corn chips to serve with them as well.  I know you said you did
not want to knock yourself out over this, but if you can find a health
food store with a decent bulk foods section, there is a black quinoa out
now that cooks up nice and black.  There is always caviar, apple butter
(dark brown, I know, but still), black jelly beans, and nori-wrapped
things.
