SC - Re: Easy period soups?

I have been reading this thread and am constantly reminded of what I learned
as a child when going on long hunting trips with my uncle. We used to take
dryed meats, veggies and fruits with us. Some of these we would eat in the
dried form, but much of it turned into stews and soups. We, of course,
added whatever fresh things, plant or small game, but we never went without
a good meal. I still practice this when on a road trip and camping. I have
no reason to think this type of thing was unheard of in the distant past.
Anybody have an opinion?
