At 07:10 PM 10/25/00 +0000,Olwen the Odd said something like:
>When Charlie was still alive and I wanted to pepper anything, I had to use
>white pepper as it was personally unhealthy for ME to use black. This was
>only because Charlie used to believe that pepper was sent from the demons
>of h---. Garlic too, I might add. I never got caught and he ate
>everything I put in front of him. Surprizingly (NOT), the more white
>pepper and garlic the entree had, the more he liked it!

My grandmother always insisted that black pepper never digested, but simply
balled up in your intestinal tract, and they would find a giant ball of it
in your gut once you died. (Along with watermelon seeds and swallowed
bubble gum).
Bless her heart.
