SC - IronChef competition - long

Of course, my first question would be: Did such competitions exist within 
period? If not. what is the point? If so, what were the rules adhered to when 
they were done?

I see little need to introduce modern concepts into SCA events other than to 
mollify the masses which in itself is absurd, IMO.
