Only if the Yams aren't misleadingly labeled "sweet potatoes" and are the
real thing either from Africa, or descended from real African Yams. I know
that the Africans had Yams, but does that mean they were known in Europe?
Would they be known in North Africa? I realize that Spain and Portugal had
trade with the Atlantic African coast even before the rounding of Cape Horn,
but did they import African Yams?
