I absolutely agree...

Luckily for me this was back in the "old days" (when you often had no idea
what was going to be served at feast until it showed up on your table) and
the original feast hadn't been posted at all, there were only 30 people
attending and I had no one show up and advise me of allergies (we had a few
folks in the kitchen who had allergies, but they were shire regulars and
were helping, so they knew what was going into what.)... so the populace
never even knew that the original feast was fubar and had to be redone.
but had it been posted in it's original form that is exactly what would
have been done (we even had a whiteboard, if we had needed it... I used it
for the tavern at lunch.)

but that was exactly what I was trying to say... thank you for restating
it!
