You know, it just occurred to me.  There is a catalogue, Sportsman's Guide, that
often has this sort of thing at a MAJOR discount.  We purchased a kitchen center
(shelves, racks for tools, even a sort of cutting board...folds up into about a
2 1/2' x 4' x 8" package.  We even got a really great set of knives in a
carrying case complete with sharpening steel and small cutting board for $14.
Now, the knives aren't Henckels or any of the other top brands, but they are
well-balanced and are not serrated!  I believe that they even have a web site,
something like www.sportsmansguide or something similar.
