Basic shortbread,
[IIRC something like:]
 1 c  Butter
 3/4 c  Sugar
1/2 ts Almond extract
  2 1/2 c  All-purpose flour
 1/4 ts Salt

We creamed together the butter and sugar and salt, thenadded the extract and
most of the flour, holding .5 cup for the kneading. We made rounds and cut them
into wedges and stars, baked them at 375* until they were just turning golden.
