SC - where is everybody?

I noticed the list was quiet this morning, too. Although I've posted a
couple of messages myself. There are several events in Ansteorra, and I'll
bet many cooks are attending one of them.

'Lainie, keep your chin up on the job search. I know nothing can be more
discouraging than being a top applicant, but NOT getting the job. My
friend, Rene, has been suffering the same...I thought it was crass, but one
prospective employer told her there were two applicants, both qualified,
and she was one of them. Since they couldn't make up their minds, they
flipped a coin. Rene lost. There was also a crisis over a rejection letter
with her name & address in the header, but the salutation line used a
different name....

When I started at OSU back in 1981, I began as a clerk/typist in the
accounting office. After I worked there a few years, the woman who
originally hired me retired. At her reception, she told me, "you know, I'm
glad you've worked out as an employee. If there had been anyone else in
the applicant pool, however, you would not have been hired." Geez, what a
blow to my ego!
Leanna - still believing there's a good job just waiting for you!
