  I have had the kitchenaid for close to 25 years.  I LOVE it!   I also have 
all the attachments.  I can't live without the strainer for tomato season.  
The worst part about sausage is finding the casings!  The pasta extruder 
works well..but I was never able to get the dough stiff enough by mixing it 
in the machine.  The grain mill will only grind hard wheat..no corn or soft 
grains 8(    I never had a problem kneading bread dough..just dumped 
everything in the bowl and left it go for 10 minutes!  One thing...I have the 
larger model with the 5 qt bowl that clicks into wrap around handles.  It 
seems to handle larger, heavier mixing.    I remember days when I would get 
up and dump the mixings for cookies in the mixer...go wake the kids up for 
school..and have fresh cookies to pack in their lunches!  half an hour from 
start to done!  (pan cookies...not drop!)
