Having spent some 22 years in a "20th-Century army", I beg to
differ.  It may in actuality have been 20th-Century food we were
fed in the field, but it sure as hell looked like it had been
preserved in the 18th or 19th century.  C-rations or K-rations is
what I'm referring to.
