The nastist shock food-wise my husband and I had moving from the Ozarks to
NE Iowa was out first bite of Iowan Chili - oouuu! Its' sweet! We're used
to Chili with plenty of actually chili powder in it. I'm sure there's some
in Iowan chili somewhere in the recipe but I asked why it was so sweet, and
was told that chili includes brown sugar- Brown sugar!! I've never eaten
chili with sugar in any amount <shiver>
I've gotten used to saurkraut as a pizza topping and pickled herring on
salad bars, but sweet chili is too much for me.
