I apologize in advance for the crosspost, but I just couldn't help myself.
For those of you trying to get  a good deal on a book, a poster on the MK 
cooks list writes;

I was able to order _A  Soup for the Qan_ (not the new edition) for C$150
(about US$102) from chapters.ca. Other online vendors were almost twice the
price.
