1.  Polvos para los dientes
Cinco onzas de alabastro, y cuatro onzas de porcelana, y
seis onzas de azúcar fino, y una onza de coral blanco, y
otra de canela, y media de aljófar, y media de almizcle.
Todo hecho polvo.  Limpiarse los dientes con estos polvos y
enjuagarse la boca con vino blanco tibio.

Tooth Powders
Eight ounces of alabaster, and four ounces of porcelain, and
six ounces of fine sugar, and one ounce of white coral, and
another of cinnamon, and half of pearl, and half of musk. 
Make of all a powder.  Clean the teeth with these powders
and rinse the mouth with tpid white iwne.

2.  Pebetes de olor
Tres onzas de menjuí, una onza de estoraque, media onza de
ámbar, dos onzas de carbón de sauz muerto en agua de azahar,
una onza de goma de gante deshecha en agua almizclada, medio
cuarto de almizcle, un cuarto de algalia, otro cuarto de
lináloe. Todas estas cosas molidas y pasadas por cedazo.
Pastarlas con agua almizclada y poner con ellas medio cuarto
de azúcar, y hecha la masa hacer los pebetes y secarlos a la
sombra.

Incense Sticks
Three ounces of benzoin, one ounce of balsam, half ounce of
amber, two ounces of willow soot killed in orange blossom
water, one ounce of gum  tricarganth dissolved in musk
water, one-eighth part of musk, quarter part of civet,
another quarter part of aloe vera.  Pound all these things
and pass them through a sieve.  Make a paste with a little
mucsk water and put with these one-eighth part of sugar, and
make the mass into logs and dry them in the shade.
 
3.  Cazoleta de olor
Una onza de menjuí, y media onza de estoraque, un cuarto de
onza de ámbar y otro de almizcle. Molidas todas estas cosas,
y puestas al fuego en una cazuelica con medio cuarto de
agua   almizclada y otro medio de algalia. Y dejarla al
fuego hasta que sea bebida el agua.

Little Scent Pots
One ounce of benzoin, and one half ounce of balsam, a
quarter ounce of amber and another of musk.  Mash all these
things and put on the fire a little pot with one-eighth part
of musk water and another half of civet.  And leave it on
the fire until it has used up the water.

4.  Jabón para el rostro
Dos onzas de jabón blanco escaldado en agua hirviendo dentro
de un paño y colado por el paño; y un cuarto de almáciga, y
medio cuarto de encienso, y un cuarto de borras y una onza
de azúcar blanco. Molidas todas estas cosas, y pasadas por
cedazo, pastarlas con el jabón y ponerlo en sus botecicos, y
poner en cada botecico una gota de ros de bota.

Soap for the Face
Two ounces of white soap scalded in water made in a cloth
and strained in a cloth, and a quarter of mastic, and an
eighth of frankincense, and a quarter of borax and one ounce
of white sugar.  Mash together these things and pass them
through a sieve, (make) paste with the soap and put into
your little cylindrical boxes, and put in each little box a
drop of red/rose of the wineskin. (possibly a drop of red
wine dregs?  That is what my best guess for "ros de bota.") 

5.  Jabón para las manos
Una onza de pepitas de calabaza, y otra de pepitas de melón
mondadas, y otra onza de simiente de rábanos.  Pastado todo
con dos onzas de jabón de Chipre y majarlo con miel y
hacerlo pelotas.

Soap for the Hands
One ounce of pumpkin pips, and another of skinned melon
pips, and another ounce of radish seeds.  Make a paste with
Chypre/Cyprus (oak moss) soap and pound with honey and form
into balls.

6.  Algalia finísima
Media onza de ámbar, una drama de almizcle, cuatro dramas de
olio moscatelino, tres dramas de olio de especias, dos
dramas de galia moscada y otras dos de lináloe. Freír el
ámbar con el olio moscatelino y especias en un vaso de
vidrio o plata. Y como sea frito, mezclar el lináloe y galia
moscada, y como se resfríe mezclar el almizcle y un poco de
azafrán. Y guardarlo en un vaso de oro o de plata.

Fine Civet
Half ounce of amber, one dram of musk, four drams of - dog
rose oil (That is my best guess for "olio moscatelino."),
three drams of spice oil, two drams of nutmeg oil and two of
aloe vera.  Fry the amber with the dog rose oil and spices
in a glass or silver vessel.  And when it is fried, mix the
aloe vera and nutmeg, and when it is cool, mix the musk and
a little safran.  And keep it safe in a silver or gold
vessel.
 

7.  Polvos para secar las lágrimas y aclarar la vista
De conchas quemadas y perlas por horadar: peso de dos reales
de cada cosa. De almidón y de alcohol: peso de un real de
cada cosa. Atutía de un día preparada con agua rosada y de
eúfrages: peso de cuatro reales. De canfora y azúcar candi:
peso de medio real de cada cosa. Cuescos de dátiles y de
mirabolanos quemados: peso de un real de cada cosa. Todas
estas cosas molidas y pasadas por cedazo muy espeso y
puestas en una caja y un paño de tafetán encima con unas
pesas.  El que estuviere de esta enfermedad, alcoholarse los
ojos con estos polvos.

Powders to Dry the Tears and Clear the vision
Of burnt conch shells and pearls for piercing:  weight of
two reals (coins) of each thing.  Of starch and alcohol: 
weight of one real of each thing.  ___ of a day prepared
with rose water and of ____:  weight of  four reals.  Of
camphor and sugar candy:  weight of half a real of each
thing.  Pit of dates and of burnt sunflower seeds:  weight
of a real of each thing.  All these things mash and pass
through a cieve very thick  and put in a box and a cloth of
taffeta over with some weight.  One that has this infirmity,
rub the eyes with these powders.

8.  Betún para soldar vidrio
Tomar un poco de albayalde y otro poco de barniz. Traerlo en
un almirez hasta hacerlo ungüento. Y como sea hecho ungüento
pegará.

Polish to Solder Glass
Take a little white lead and a little glaze.  Work it in a
mortar until it makes unguent.  And when it has made
unguent, it will stick.

9.  Pasticas confortativas para perfumar
Anime, lináloe, azúcar rosado, grasa, encienso y estoraque.
Molido todo en un almirez, tanto de uno como de otro partes
iguales. Y pastado con agua almizclada hacer sus pasticas.

Comforting pastes for perfuming
Oriental tree resin, aloe vera, rose sugar (sugar infused
with rose), grease, frankincense and balsam.  Pound all in a
mortar, as much one as the other, each in equal parts, and
make a paste with musk water and make your little pastes (or
maybe pastes shaped like lozenges or something similar).
 
10.  Ungüento para postemas
Media onza de pepitas de membrillos puestas en remojo en
cuatro onzas de agua de azahar, medio día.  Sacar aquella
goma por un paño algo ralo.  Tres onzas de enjundia de
capón, o pato, o gallina que sea fresca, y otras tres onzas
de olio de almendras y tres onzas de cera blanca. Todas
estas cosas derretirlas y ponerlas en un almirez caliente. Y
poner con ellas lo de las   pepitas, y mezclarlo mucho con
la mano del almirez, que esté también caliente.  Y desque
esté frío, echarle dos claras de huevos muy batidas y
tornarlo a mezclar mucho. Y guardarlo en vaso de vidrio. 
Dura en tiempo frío treinta días y en tiempo caldo quince
días.

Unguent for abcesses
Half ounce of quince seeds put to steep in four ounces of
orange blossom water, half a day.  Take out that gum by a
cloth somewhat thin (cheesecloth).  Three ounces of alond
oil and three ounces of white wax.  All these things melt
them and put them in a hot mortar.  And put with them of the
pips (seeds), and mix it a lot with the hand of the mortar
(pestle), that it will be also hot.  And when it is cold,
toss in two whites of egg very well beaten and take it to
mix a lot.  And guard it in a vessel of glass.  Leave it in
cold weather thirty days, and in warm weather fifteen days.
