My take is to lose the shrooms from the vegetarian stew. One of the more
common crypto-allergies is to shrooms. [And the answer is not to tell
them to pick them out. The stew is already contaminated by the time it
is cooked. ;-)  ]

Next question - what is the shortening and other possible animal
oriented item that may be in the cookies [yep, some vegans snark at the
milk in chocolate chips, and the minuscule amount of dairy in some
margarines. Go figure ;-)  ]

The dressed up peas and gingered cheesecake sound wonderful!
