Sekanjabin can be good either hot or cold. If folks are tired of this
particular variation or drink, there are other variations and other
similar drinks. Check this file in the BEVERAGES section of my files:
jalabs-msg (51K) 1/23/01 Drinks with a sugar or honey-syrup
base such
                                       as Sekanjabin (Persian Mint Drink).

You may well have already read these files, but just in case you
haven't or for others who might be interested, here are others in
the same section that might be useful for this:
beverages-NA-msg (80K) 9/ 2/99 Non-alcoholic beverages.
wassail-msg (15K) 12/17/99 Spiced cider and ale drinks. Traditions.
(some of these might work using fresh cider)
infusions-msg (19K) 11/27/00 Period infusions. Herbal "teas".
Barley tea.

You can find several period ypocras recipes in this file, which
might help you choose your spices, even for the "fake" stuff:
spiced-wine-msg (19K) 1/23/01 Spiced wines. Hippocras. Recipes.
