greetings all,

my household is hosting the local midwinter feast in june. we're
making it a themed event set in 1366, East Denmark. We are limiting
the feast to 100 attendants, we have the professional musicians, we
have the professional clown (who majored in medieval clownery!), we
have a tentative menu based on the Harpestreng and the Buch von Guter
Spiese. We even have a whole deer for the stew, the roast and the
fladen, and maybe even some home made sausage. we're playing at cheese
making and breads to get just the right texture.

but.

we want to also recreate the ceremony and circumstance of a feast. The
premise is that the burghers of the city of Ystad are feasting the new
galkare (sort of governor). They are well to do, but not all noble.
Could anyone suggest books or other sources that I can attempt to ILL?
We'd be most grateful.

cheers
/maggie
