SC - probably a legal question...

Huh??? Corpora doesn't touch on anything close to this. State or local
laws may affect this, however. Hmmm. No, it's not April first...

Somebody needs to go check some things. If they are worried about
using 'out-of-date' canned goods, the UPC will not tell them that.
Those are product and company codes only. The date is marked or
stamped elsewhere on the container. The chance of getting food
poisoning from a canned good is extremely small compared to getting
it from bad food control in the kitchen. For example, the discussion
here on this list in another thread about how long you can safely
keep hardboiled eggs.

While I believe this feast was done in a neighboring state, this file
in the FEASTS section of the Florilegium does show one SCA feast
using game meats. I'm sure there are others in my files. I just
don't remember which ones off the top of my head.

You may already have looked at these, but if not, these two in the
FOOD section might be of use:

rabbit-dishes-msg (39K) 6/20/00 Period rabbit and hare recipes.

Experiences.

This sounds like the kind of feast I'd like to try. Wish I wasn't
halfway across the continent.
