Sorry! I missed this the first time around... Canned goods? BWAHAHAHA!!!!
<ahem> no, no need to save the bar codes. AFAIK, it's a good idea to
save the tags from bags of shellfish and such, identifying the waters
from which they came, but apart from that, I know of no such regulation.
