I am looking to either obtain or compile a list of the surviving ancient
and medieval cooking sources. If anyone knows of such a list already present
somewhere, listing the book, the author (if known), the region and time
period, I would greatly appreciate them directing me to it.

If no one knows of something, I would greatly appreciate the help of
this list in stating as many different period sources as they know of... What
I'm trying to do is maintain a database for myself and others.

What I'm looking for is basically:

Book of Dishes al-Baghdaddi Persian 1226
(available 1939 issue Journal of Islamic Culture)

In a glance, someone can tell that they can find persian/middle eastern
food from a certain time period and where to go to get the source... I think
that if something like this doesn't exist, it would be of great help to those
starting out and already experienced.

     So, what do you say?

     Khadijah
