Actually , yes. There are  many pictures that show bowls of food sitting 
around the table. There are also descriptions of sharing dishes as well as  
descrioptions that suggest that the feast consisted of those dishes which 
were within your reach. OTOH, we have no evidence that meals were served up 
in individual portions which seem to be a modern affectation based on profit 
margins/portion control concepts.
